Groups

We welcome all groups large or small. Please let us know about your group in advance by clicking here: School / Youth Group Request and Adult Group Request

General Group Information

  • No admission fee, donations are appreciated and are given to local charitable groups.
  • FREE large private parking lot nearby
  • Groups are always given special attention by trained docents.
  • Please allow at least 90 minutes to fully explore our center.
  • We do not allow photography, food or drink in the galleries.

Additional areas of interesting include: Genealogy lab, auditorium, small library, and visitor lounge.

** The auditorium is available daily for visitors to enjoy on-demand videos pertaining to Norwegian culture and the immigration story.

Adult Groups

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by Livsreise staff and guided to our handicap accessible, hearing loop enabled auditorium. Your group will receive a special introduction, followed by a short video that talks about the Norwegian immigration experience. Afterward we will direct your group to our exhibition spaces.

  • Self-guided exploration at our interactive and easy to navigate kiosks.
  • Trained docents are always available to assist.
  • We are a dementia friendly facility.

School / Youth Groups

Your students will be welcomed by staff and guided to our auditorium where they begin their visit by watching a 15 minute video about the immigrant experience. After the video students are broken into small groups of 4-6 students and assigned a docent who will guide them through our main gallery and interactive kiosks.

  • A hands-on activity can be arranged at the leader/teacher’s request.
  • Study guides for teh gallery and/or educational videos are available at several elementary grade levels.
  • Dedicated space for coats, water bottles and backpacks are provided.
  • We recommend allowing at least 90 minutes or more for your visit depending on your choice of additional videos and/or activities.
