B. Marcus Cederström, PhD.Livsreise is pleased to welcome back Dr. Cederström as our speaker in December. He is a public folklorist whose research focuses on Scandinavian-American folklife. Currently he works on a project titled “Sustaining Scandinavian Folk Arts in the Upper Midwest,” but he also researches the intersection of immigration, labor, and creative expression. In addition he works with indigenous communities on issues of sustainability, cultural revitalization and pedagogy. Marcus is a graduate from the University of Oregon with degrees in Sports Business, History and Scandinavian Studies. He earned is MA and PhD. in Scandinavian Studies at UW-Madison and now works as a Community Curator of Nordic-American Folklore as a part of the “Sustaining Scandinavian Folk Art in the Midwest “project. |
