On September 26,2026, in conjunction with Stoughton ART WALK 2026, Livsreise is pleased to once again be hosting a musician. This year the featured musician is fiddler Avelina Gaston. who is pictured above.

She will be performing in the Livsreise Auditorium from 10:30AM until noon.

Avelina is a University of Wisconsin-Madison PhD student in Plant Breeding and Plant genetics with an undying passion for Scandinavian folk music and dance. She grew up engaged in traditional Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish dance and music in Boise, Idaho. She began playing fiddle at age six, and went on to win her division in the Idaho Open Fiddle Contest. Since its opening in 2015, she has attended the West Denmark Fiddle School in Luck, Wisconsin almost every year learning a variety of tradition folk music. She has also attended Scandi Fiddle and Dance weekends at Folklore Village in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Her fiddling style is a unique modern mosaic that showcases the breadth of culture she has learned from.
